Christian Missions Charitable Trust (CMCT) was founded in 1964 by Dr. Colleen Reddit. Spurred by the words of Proverbs 29:18—Where there is no vision, the people perish—Dr. Colleen was stirred to help vulnerable young women become financially independent and self-reliant. Over the years, CMCT has expanded into a full-fledged charitable organization, impacting thousands of lives.
Behind every initiative is a desire to touch lives with the love of Christ. Every beneficiary of CMCT receives the same level of service, irrespective of their caste, creed, or religious beliefs. There is no coercion to accept Christ, as we strongly believe that such coercion would be unbiblical. However, we are unequivocal about sharing the reason for our hope (1Peter 3:15).
Our initiatives align closely with seven of the eight Millennium Development Goals. This has not been through our design but through God’s providential leading! As an organization, we emphasize the importance of equipping the vulnerable with new skills that will empower them to lift themselves out of poverty and sustain their independence.
CMCT does not receive government funding but is supported through the generous contributions of individual donors. We are registered as a society under the Tamil Nadu Societies Act.
